• Aldington's poems "Prelude," "Images," and "At the British Museum" are reprinted on the web as part of the online edition of Louis Untermeyer's Modern British Poetry.

• Aldington's translation of Euripides' Alcestis is available on the Project Gutenberg site.

• A copy of RA's birth certificate can be viewed here. The image of the certificate shown here is a link to a much larger, 294K, image. This copy was provided David Francis, Librarian at the Frewen Library, University of Portsmouth. He points out that RA's place of birth, according to the certificate, is indeed Portsmouth, and not Portsea -- which is the suburb of Portsmouth stated to be his birthplace in the Dictionary of National Biography. "U.S.D" which appears in column 1 stands for "Urban Sub District."

• Catherine Aldington has written two essays, "Poet on the Couch : H.D. with Freud," and "The Lawrence Bureau," which she kindly gives us permission to make available here.

  «Le premier, le véritable Imagisme était limité à Ezra Pound, H.D. et moi. En 1912, je crois que nous n'avions pas lu les Symbolistes Français. Il faut se rendre compte que le vers libre existait dans la langue anglaise depuis, Ossian[?], Salvet[?], et Shelley. Au milieu du 19ème siècle il y a eu Walt Whitman, et Matthew Arnold, puis Edward Carpenter et Henley. C'est de ces poètes et des grecs, et pas des français, que nous avons hérité notre vers libre. D'ailleurs, l'idéal de style est tout à fait différent, le Symbolisme se basant sur des allusions, sur l'indirecte et le subjectif tandis que l'Imagisme visait surtout un style directe, précis et objectif.»
